The history of CC 2637 - Falaise Anjou

The Cadet Corps (CC) 2637 Falaise Longue-Pointe was an initiative of the Montreal Catholic School Board (CECM). During its first year of existence, in 1959, the unit's premises were located at Urgel-Archambault School. Towards the end of the 1960s, the CC moved to the Longue-Pointe Sector Support Unit (USS) and remains there today. During this same period, the CC became an affiliated unit of the Les Fusiliers Mont-Royal regiment. Thus, since that time, we have proudly worn the grenade on our beret; the badge representing our regiment.

In addition, the CC will be named "Falaise" by the regiment after a town occupied by Les Fusiliers Mont-Royal during the Normandy landings (WWII).

Since its formation, the CC has stood out thanks to its high level of discipline and its attachment to military values.

In 2008 the corps merged with the CC 2927 Kinsmen Anjou and the new corps became the 2637 Falaise Kinsmen Anjou.

For over forty years now, the CC has been providing all sorts of experiences to young people in the neighbourhoods surrounding the USS. It also helps the community by organising volunteer days every year. Take for example the year of the ice storm when our cadets helped prepare the shelter at the Polyvalente d'Anjou and when others organised a daycare at the USS Longue-Pointe for the children of the victims.
